Moment: Seventh grade Valentines dance, got to miss the afternoon class periods for this thing. The DJ started off the party with this song. I remember walking into the gym with my girlfriends and this song going. Even when I hear the opening strums, I am taken back to being newly 13 and wearing my cute red vest and walking into this dud of a dance. True to the stereotype of preteen children, the room was divided straight down the middle by gender. I think we sat down at one of the bleachers near the other end of the gym, where I was later teased by one Wes Carter. It was sophomore year in high school that it dawned on both of us that we kind of liked each other. But it never really worked out. Just amounted to some flirtation in Mr. Koellner's AP Chem class.
